Jack Ma, billionaire founder of Alibaba, donates masks and test kits to countries in Africa

The billionaire founder of Alibaba, a global online shopping group, Jack Ma is donating face masks, coronavirus test kits and suits to all African countries, OYOGist.com has learned.

The continent of Africa, entirely, has reported 300 confirmed cases of coronavirus infection, with Egypt – the country with the largest confirmed cases on the continent – reporting 110 cases.

According to reports, Jack Ma, through his foundation, will donate a total of 1.1 million testing kits, 6 million face masks and 60,000 protective suits.

The initiative would also include online training materials on how to use handle coronavirus clinical treatments for hospitals in Africa.

A statement in a tweet shared by Jack Ma said, “the world cannot afford the unthinkable consequences of a COVID-19 pandemic in Africa,” he said in a statement tweeted Monday.
