BBC Royal Correspondent, Johnny Dymond breaks down the consequences of the decision of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to step down from their roles as ‘senior’ members of the Royal Family.
He said members of the Royal Family are not happy with how open and public the Duke and Duchess have made the issues going on in the Royal Family.
“This is unprecedented. No one has ever done it before,” Johnny said as he explains the intricacies of the Royal Family and the implications of making such a significant decision.
The issues going on between the Royal Family and the Issues going on between Prince Harry and Meghan are now public and the Royal Family is upset about it.
Dymond explains that typically such issues are hidden, glossed over and papered over, rather than being made public and turned into a spectacle.
Consequently, this means that both the Duke and Duchess are now independent of the Royal Family. But it is uncertain what amount of role or responsibilities they’ll continue to play in the Royal Family going forward.
