Russian opposition leader and staunch Putin critic, Alexei Navalny has just been sentenced to a three-and-a-half years jail term, OYOGist.com has gathered.
The sentencing was handed to Alexei Navalny by a Moscow Judge for violating a 2014 conviction. Navalny has called the prison sentence politically motivated.
While the European Human Rights Court had ruled in 2017 that his trial was unfair, Russian prosecutors pushed to have Navalny’s initial three-and-a-half year suspended prison sentence to time in jail, and the judge agreed.
