A former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, has blamed the Governor for Oyo State, Engr Seyi Makinde and the former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Bode George, of engineering the assault on him at the party’s rally for the Ondo State governorship election in Ondo town on Wednesday, oyogist.com reports.
Fayose was advancing toward the platform at the campaign ground when a tout moved towards him and remove his cap.
Responding last night through his Media Aide, Lere Olayinka, the former Governor said “in spite of the dishonorable demonstration, he won’t stop talking concerning the running of the party in the Southwest zone and the individuals who couldn’t create any outcome in Lagos State since 1999 will be made to retire.”
He said he will make formal report of the episode to the security agencies and the party’s relevant authorities, noticing that it was not something to be taken care of with levity as the security agencies must unravel all the hooligans brought to the occasion and their supporters.
“That is the way late Chief Bola Ige’s top was eliminated in Ile Ife, Osun State, at that point and we as a whole realize what happened later. So this one won’t be overlooked and treated as a unique little something.”
