Joseph D. McBride, the US-based legal representative for polarizing internet personalities Andrew and Tristan Tate, has strongly condemned the recent arrest of his clients in Miami.
Apprehended by the U.S. Marshals Service acting on an extradition request from the United Kingdom, the brothers’ arrest has been labeled by McBride as a highly coordinated, politically motivated abuse of power between British prosecutors and the US Department of Justice.
McBride vehemently maintains the innocence of the Tate brothers, asserting that the UK’s extradition push directly breaches a long-standing mutual understanding with Romanian authorities.
Under that agreement, Britain reportedly committed to withholding extradition requests while separate, active criminal proceedings against the brothers unfolded in Romania.
According to McBride, British officials chose to discard their word the moment a fresh wave of severe charges became a useful tool for a “political hit.”
The defense attorney further linked the timing of the arrest to an ongoing defamation lawsuit in Palm Beach, Florida, which is scheduled for trial within six months.
McBride claims that the litigation has heavily discredited the initial accusations against the Tates, prompting British authorities to orchestrate an arrest before an American civil jury could formally hear the case.
He also alleged that the operation was pushed through by a lower-level DOJ official without explicit approval from top leadership, expressing absolute confidence that the arrests will eventually be overturned in court.
Meanwhile, oyogist had reported earlier today the UK Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) has substantially expanded its criminal case against the brothers.
Bedfordshire Police confirmed that the newest indictments bring the total number of British charges against the men to 59. Specifically, Andrew Tate, 39, faces 42 charges—including seven additional counts of rape, three counts of sexual exploitation trafficking, three counts of actual bodily harm, and 19 counts involving extreme pornography and indecent child images.
Tristan Tate, 38, faces 17 charges, including a fresh count of sexual assault, two new counts of rape, and three counts of trafficking for sexual exploitation.
These 59 combined counts are completely separate from an earlier British prosecution regarding distinct victims, as well as a severe, ongoing criminal case in Romania where the brothers face charges of human trafficking, rape, and forming an organized crime syndicate.
The Tate brothers continue to deny all criminal allegations across all jurisdictions as they prepare for multifaceted legal battles in Romania, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
