On Friday, Nigeria’s Presidential Villa in Abuja played host to Sierra Leone’s President, Julius Maada Bio, who was warmly welcomed by President Bola Tinubu. The visit was marked by a formal presidential reception, underscoring the strong diplomatic ties between the two West African nations.
ECOWAS Chairman Arrives for Academic and Business Discussions
President Bio, who currently chairs the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), shared insights about his trip via his social media platform, X. He revealed that his primary purpose in Nigeria was to deliver the keynote address at the 12th convocation ceremony of Baze University, a prominent institution in Abuja.
In addition to his academic engagement, President Bio plans to meet with leading African entrepreneurs and business executives based in Nigeria. These discussions aim to foster economic collaboration and explore new investment opportunities within the region.
“This evening, I arrived in Abuja to speak at Baze University’s 12th Convocation and engage with top African business leaders. I look forward to fruitful discussions and strengthened partnerships,” President Bio stated.
