Benue police command arrests varsity student over alleged killing of varsity don

The Benue state police command has announced the arrest of one Mr. Jeremiah Nnamdi, an identified student of the Federal University of Agriculture Makurdi (FUAM) for allegedly killing an Associate Professor of the University, Karl Kwaghger, oyogist.com reports.

The police made this known in a statement made available to newsmen on Saturday by the state police spokesman, DSP Catherine Anene.

Reports has it that the university lecturer was assassinated at the Tarka Foundation, Gboko, where he had gone for relaxation on the 28th of November, 2020.

The police moved into action following an panic call placed to the police by members of the public but on getting to the crime scene, they met the victim brutally stabbed on his ribs with cuts on his neck.

“Swiftly, police detectives where deployed to the scene where they met the victim brutally stabbed on his ribs and cut on his neck.”

“During investigation, one Jeremiah Nnamdi of Umigwe village, Imo State, a student of the Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi was arrested in Abuja where he went to sell the car of the deceased.”

“The suspect confessed to the crime and further stated that his initial intention was to threaten the victim with a make-believe gun and rob the deceased of his car.”

“But he ended up killing him because of his resistance and took the car away,” the police added.” (NAN)
