Ortom flags off distribution of plastic chairs/ tables to public schools in Benue State

Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom today at the State Ministry of Science and Technology performed the flag off of 10,000 plastic chairs and dual desk for onward distribution to public schools in Benue State, oyogist.com reports.

The governor who reiterated his commitment to make basic education the strongest in order to ensure a formidable education foundation for the Benue child noted that more contracts have been advertised by the State Universal Basic Education Board , SUBEB, for the construction and renovation of schools as well as provision of instructional materials to ensure a conducive teaching / learning atmosphere for the Benue child.

Earlier, Senator representing Benue North West Senatorial District, Rt. Hon. Orker Jev commended Governor Samuel Ortom’s investment in education, saying it is capable of laying a solid foundation for the Benue child.

Senator Jev stated that due to the huge investments in education and Information and Communication Technology in particular, Benue has been ranked third in the country among states to access funds for ICT development.

Executive Chairman, State Universal Basic Education Board SUBEB, Comrade Joseph Utse said the board under his leadership would continue to ensure full implementation of the laudable policies and programmes of the Governor for basic education.

Governor Ortom later proceeded to Gboko to commission other infrastructural projects completed by his administration and inspect ongoing projects in the area
