The Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) which had its election recently with Olumide Akpata emerging as the winner and set to replace Paul Usaro as National President of the Association may yet be faced with more crisis, oyogist.com reports.

There may yet be further twist to the ongoing issue in the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA). Recall that Kaduna state Governor, His Excellency Nasir El Rufai was supposed to be one of the guest speakers at this year’s NBA convention.

However, in a sudden twist of events, the NBA wrote to inform him that they were withdrawing their invitation to him. According to them, this was due to a petition that had been signed by group of lawyers against El Rufai.

Well, there is now even further twists to the whole drama as Bauchi state branch of the Association have written to dissociate themselves from the position of the National Executive Council’s (NEC) decision on the issue and hence, are demanding an apology from the NEC to all members of the NBA. This may be trouble for the NBA which is yet to fully settle all aggrieved parties after the recent elections that produced Olumide.

It is also been speculated that Kebbi branch is also at the verge of withdrawal from the forthcoming convention and if this is true, other Northern states may pull similar stunts as well.
