Chelsea eyeing new goalkeeper
Chelsea signed Kepa Arrizabalaga in the summer of 2018 for £71m, making the Spaniard the most expensive goalkeeper in world football.

The Spanish international’s 2018/19 wasn’t terrible, but he was by no means the best keeper in the Premier League.

Kepa was so poor in fact, that Frank Lampard opted to drop him in two different spells this past season, the second of which came at the end of the campaign and saw Willy Caballero handed a starting berth in several league games, the FA Cup final and the Blues’ Champions League clash with Bayern Munich.

Kepa is also believed to have finished the Premier League season with the worst save percentage.

Oblak responds to Chelsea links
Two of the names most persistently linked with a move to Stamford Bridge have been Atletico Madrid’s Jan Oblak and Ajax’s Andre Onana.

The former of those stoppers is viewed as the more expensive option as he is believed to have a £109m release clause.

Oblak has also recently be drawn on Chelsea’s reported interest in him.

Speaking ahead of Atletico’s Champions League quarter-final meeting with RB Leipzig on Thursday evening, the stopper was quizzed on Chelsea’s interest in him.

However, Oblak remained rather coy and instead wanted to focus on his side’s upcoming game:

“This is not the time for that, now it’s Leipzig.

“I’ll look back at the season when the last game is over, and, hopefully, we’ll have three more [games to play].

“Then there will be time to talk. But first, Leipzig. I’m really looking forward to it.”
