Oyogist.com reports that the Nasarawa State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Dr Abdulkarim Kana, has tested positive for COVID-19.
The state Commissioner for Health, Yahaya Ahmed, said on Thursday that the commissioner and his family members were in self-isolation.
He said, “We took the sample of the Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control where he was confirmed positive. He is in self isolation at home and is in a stable condition. We are taking care of him.
“We are also tracing those that have come in contact with the AG to curtail further spread of the virus in the state.”
Kana is also a member of the state task force on COVID-19.
Meanwhile, the Bingham University, Karu, in Nasarawa State, says its centre, Zankli Research Centre, has the strength to test samples and produce results of COVID-19 within one hour.

The Director of the centre, Dr John Bimba, on Thursday in Lafia, said, “The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control has approved Bingham University’s Zankli Research Centre to commence private testing for COVID-19.
“We have a maximum capacity of 300 tests per day and each sample could be ready in one hour,” he added.
