Two airplanes MEA A330 and a Turkish Airlines 777 have collided at the Lagos Airport on Wednesday, 29th of July, 2020 information reaching OYOGist.com revealed.

The accident led to a commotion after an Airbus A330-243 operated by Middle East Airlines (MEA) with registration number OD-MEA taxied onto a waiting Boeing 777 with registration number TC-LJC that is operated by Turkish Airlines.

However, there was no injury from the incident.

According to Sahara Reporters, the Turkish Boeing airplane that was hit by the MEA Airbus is a cargo plane that was parked at the Lagos International airport ramp, a source revealed.

“The Turkish cargo flight was parked at the tarmac when the MEA airbus ran into it l, ripping off part of the empennage of the aircraft.”

“The MEA flight was taxiing when it happened,” the source said.

Pictures of the damage has circulated online, with the lagos airport now the number 1 trend on Twitter Nigeria.
