We spent N1.32 billion, not 1.5bn to take care of ourselves as covid-19 palliative – NDCC BOSS

OYOGist.com has learned that the NCDC Managing Director, Prof. Pondei has allegedly revealed that the real amount of money used as covid-19 palliatives, as it claims only N1.32 billion naira was used as covid-19 palliatives and not the N1.5 billion naira circulating round that was used. According to the commission ,this is against the 1.5 billon rumors circulating round that the commission used.

This was revealed by the commission acting Managing Director, Prof. Kemebradikumo Pondei, as he claims the commission only spent N1.3 BIllion naira as covid-19 relief funds for staffs and not 1.5billon naira earlier disclosed on the news, as the Niger Delta agency claimed the money was used to take care of staffs of the commission.

The director who disclosed this during the house of representatives NDCC hearing on Monday July 20th on the alleged financial recklessness at the NDCC commission, Premium Times reports.

Going further Into this the commission director also stated that the youths and the people were also given palliatives, in order to support them and reduce the effects of the pandemic on the people.

He further stated “the youths were idle (without work/unemployed) and unable to work at that time, in order to reduce and avoid violence, they were paid.”

The commission stated “Five million for youths and five million for women and five million for people living with disabilities in each senatorial district.”
