OYOGist.com has learned that in a bid to reduce the economic hardship of the residents in Rivers state; Governor Nyesom Wike has inaugurated the free bus programme while giving 28 youths automatic employments.
Recall that the Governor recently eased the lockdown in some parts of the state even though it still has cases of the coronavirus.
According to him, the planned total lockdown of Port Harcourt and Obio-Akpor local government areas is canceled. He, however, advised residents to take full responsibility and adhere to guidelines from government agencies while asking the land borders, open markets, and bars to retain their status quo of shut down.

At a time where people are losing their jobs everywhere in the world, 28 youths have gotten employments through this scheme.
“The Rivers State free bus programme has been inaugurated and has been sent out to ease the sufferings of our people in these trying times and also creates jobs for 28 youths. The bus fare is ABSOLUTELY FREE and operates within Obio-Akpor, Phalga, Eleme, and Oyigbo LGAs.” Governor Nyesom Wike tweeted.
