4 New COVID-19 cases confirmed in Oyo State

The Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde has on Friday, the 17th of April announced that the state has uncovered four new positive COVID-19 cases in the state capital, Ibadan, OYOgist has learned.

He explained that these new cases are results of the previously conducted mass testing at Adamasingba Stadium of Oyo State.

According to Governor Seyi Makinde, among the two cases discovered on Thursday, 17th April, “one of the two positive COVID-19 cases confirmed yesterday, is from Yemetu and the other is a returnee from the United States who is based in Ikolaba”

Governor Seyi Makinde further explained that there is a quest to test more people to uncover new cases.

“It has been our aspiration to test a lot more people and we think as we do this mass testing, we can see the pattern of the virus within our environment and from those results, we can implement appropriate measures designed to deal with the situation”.

The Governor revealed that the new positive cases have brought the total number of “active cases” in Oyo State to 7.
