Police Discovers Ritualist Den In Osogbo

OYOGist.com has learned that the Osun state police command following intelligence report discovers a ritualists den in the oke-fera area of Osogbo city in Osun state.

It was reported that about 20 people were rescued from a shrine when the police raid the den. Many of the victims were reportedly skinny and malnourished.

The police also arrested the operator of the shrine who is popularly known as Alfa Olalekan. Residents of the community said the religious cleric claims to be a healer and has been operating the shrine for many years in the area without anybody suspecting him.

The police public relations officer of the state, Odoro Folashade confirmed the arrest of the cleric. He said:

“I can confirm that there was an arrest of the operator of the shrine where many inmates were rescued. But, some people later came to the police station and claims they were the ones who gave their children to the owner of the shrine, who they also claimed to be a spiritualist.

”In fact, some of those rescued from the shrine had issues, some behave like drug addicts, some like mentally challenged and so on. But what the police will do is to embark on thorough investigation into the matter and come up with a report.”

The Assistant Inspector General of police zone 2, Pelumi Adelere in charge of Osun commands, said that the commands is ready to combat crime in both states.

Lawal, stated this while parading some suspects at the zone 2 GRA Oshogbo, Osun State while sounding a note of warning to criminals and herdsmen who may be considering committing any crime in the state.
