President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has returned to Nigeria following his participation in the 2026 Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW 2026), where he led Nigeria’s delegation alongside key ministers.

During the high-level summit, Nigeria and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) signed a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) aimed at strengthening bilateral economic relations. The agreement is expected to deepen economic cooperation, boost trade and investment flows, enhance technology transfer, and expand collaboration across strategic sectors including energy, infrastructure, agriculture, mining, and renewable energy.

On the sidelines of the event, President Tinubu announced that a joint Nigeria-UAE INVESTOPIA will be hosted in Lagos in February, an initiative designed to attract global investors and showcase Nigeria’s investment opportunities.

Addressing participants at the summit, the President reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to sustainable development, stating that the country plans to mobilise up to $30 billion annually in climate and green industrial finance. He noted that the funds will support Nigeria’s ongoing energy transition reforms and efforts to expand nationwide access to electricity.

The Abu Dhabi trip underscores Nigeria’s growing engagement with global partners on sustainability, investment, and climate-focused economic growth, as the Tinubu administration continues to pursue reforms aimed at positioning the country as a leading destination for investment in Africa.
