Young Africans Urged to Reclaim Africa’s Position as Cradle of Civilization at TD Africa’s “Celebrating You”

Youth, Technology and Africa’s Future Take Centre Stage at TD Africa’s 2025 Awards Night

African youths have been challenged to take deliberate action in redefining the continent’s global relevance,
with a call to reclaim Africa’s historical identity as the birthplace of civilization.
This powerful message was delivered by Mrs. Chioma Ekeh, Chief Executive Officer of
TD Africa, during the company’s 2025 “Celebrating You” Awards Night.

“The Baton Is Now in Your Hands”

Addressing a vibrant audience of young professionals alongside industry veterans, partners, and key
stakeholders at Eko Hotels & Suites, Lagos, Mrs. Ekeh urged African youths to embrace
responsibility and leadership.

“The baton is now in your hands,” she said. “You must ensure that Africa once again takes its rightful
place as the cradle of civilization.”

Her remarks set the tone for an evening focused on innovation, loyalty, and the role of technology in shaping
Africa’s economic and social transformation.

Common Sense as a Cornerstone for African Success

Chairman of Zinox Group, Mr. Leo Stan Ekeh, also delivered a thought-provoking
address, highlighting the importance of practical wisdom in business and leadership.

According to him, common sense remains the most underrated but critical asset for Africans operating within
increasingly complex economic environments. He described it as the foundation for integrity, discipline,
resilience, and long-term vision.

Nearly Three Decades of Technology Leadership

Founded in 1999, TD Africa has grown into one of West Africa’s leading ICT distribution companies,
with almost 30 years of experience connecting global technology brands to African markets.

Through strategic distribution, cloud solutions, and innovative digital services, the company has played a
central role in expanding access to technology and accelerating digital adoption across the continent.

Celebrating Partners and Shared Growth

Lady Chioma Chimere, Coordinating Managing Director of TD Africa, described the awards night as
a heartfelt tribute to partners whose consistency, trust, and excellence have supported the company’s mission
of making technology accessible to all Africans.

She emphasized that collaboration remains a driving force behind growth in the ICT sector, noting that no
meaningful progress is achieved in isolation.

Broad Media Reach and Cultural Highlights

KongaTV provided extensive coverage of the event, capturing key moments and broadcasting them
across multiple platforms. This ensured that the celebration of excellence, innovation, and partnership reached
audiences far beyond the venue.

The evening was further elevated by live performances from Styl Plus and Wande Coal,
spoken-word poetry by Chidalu, and comedy sets from Kenny Blaq.

Distinguished Guests and a Grand Finale

The gala attracted an array of influential figures from business, government, and industry, including
Mrs. Ibukun Awosika, Dr. Ernest Ndukwe, Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa,
Dr. Stella Okoli, Mr. Atedo Peterside, and Mr. Nnamdi Ezeigbo.

A standout moment of the night was the grand raffle draw, where one guest drove away in a brand-new SUV,
reflecting TD Africa’s culture of rewarding commitment and excellence.

Looking Ahead

As the 2025 “Celebrating You” Awards Night came to a close, TD Africa reaffirmed its dedication to strengthening
partnerships, upholding integrity, and driving sustainable technological advancement across Africa.
