“After Loss Came Life”: Nigerian Lawyer Welcomes First Child After Years of Heartbreak
Married to a pastor, Princess described the birth of her son as nothing short of a miracle, calling him living proof of perseverance, faith and mercy.
A Long, Exhausting Journey to Motherhood
Sharing her testimony on Facebook, the new mother revealed that her pregnancy went beyond the expected due date and was marked by weeks of intense labour without progress. Despite prolonged contractions, she never dilated beyond 2cm.
Doctors eventually advised an emergency Caesarean section, a decision she said she accepted after a brief prayer.
A Critical Discovery in the Operating Room
According to Princess, scans failed to detect a major complication during pregnancy. However, during surgery, doctors discovered that her baby’s umbilical cord was tightly wrapped around his neck, cutting off blood flow.
The baby, weighing over 4 kilograms, was already growing weak and had passed meconium in the womb, a sign of distress. Quick medical intervention ultimately saved his life.
Faith Tested, Faith Rewarded
In her emotional post, Princess recounted a troubling spiritual experience during the pregnancy, saying she received a vision suggesting both she and her unborn child would not survive. She later discovered that the vision mirrored the physical reality doctors uncovered.
Despite the fear and physical pain, she held tightly to her faith, declaring that praise carried her through the darkest moments.
“Judah Is the Evidence of My Praise”
Celebrating her son’s safe arrival, Princess wrote that hearing her baby cry after birth confirmed her prayers had been answered.
She named him Judah, calling him “the evidence of my praise,” and expressed gratitude for divine mercy after years of loss.
A Message to Other Mothers
While acknowledging the intense pain of surgery and recovery, Princess used her testimony to encourage other women, especially mothers who deliver via C-section.
She emphasised that giving birth through surgery does not diminish womanhood or faith, praising mothers who endure the process as strong and heroic.
