According to report reaching OYOGist.com, Governor Wike has graciously received Dr Chidi Lloyd into the PDP. He described politics of bitterness as anti progress. According to Wike “politics of progress does not undermine the importance of friendship. I believe that we must forget yesterday, put ourselves together for a better tomorrow”.
Chidi Lloyd in company with Chief Sergent Awuse, Amb. Desmond (PDP state chairman), formally returned to the PDP whilst apologizing to Hon. Micheal Chinda and Magnus Abe’s supporters he may have offended in the political confrontation of 2015 and 2019.
In reaction to this defection, Wike responded by saying that “during my second term inauguration, I asked for forgiveness from those I offended and also promised to forgive those that hurt me”.
Furthermore, Wike stated that “Dr. Chidi Lloyd has publicly expressed regret of his role in the 2013 crisis at the State House of Assembly and apologised. He further stated that he has forgiven Dr. Lloyd because he is a Christian and those who became victims of that act have also consented.
“Forgiveness is key for every christian. God has forgiven me, why can’t I forgive. We have also met with Hon. Michael Chinda and others, we got their approval for reconciliation. “I love to attract people to our party because l am not a greedy politician. I believe that the more the merrier. I will do what is in the best interest of the people and the party.”
By virtue this decampment, Wike promised to Complete road project, restore electrification, and upgraded the traditional stool of Chidi Lloyd from third class to second class. In a reaction, His Royal Highness of Akpabu, Eze Godwin Chukwuemeka thanked Governor Wike.
