According to reports reaching OYOGist.com, the governorship candidate of the Action Alliance, AA in Imo State during the 2019 General Election, and now a front line Chieftain of APC in Imo State, Chief Uche Nwosu has appealed to Senator Hope Uzodinma, the executive Governor of Imo State not to appeal the judgement delivered yesterday, 1st of July, 2020 by an Owerri Federal High Court, which reinstated the democratically elected LGA Executive Chairmen, Vice Chairmen and Counsellors in Imo State.
Chief Uche Nwosu, who is the son in-law of former governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, made the call on his Social Media platform which reads as follows;
“While extending my heartfelt congratulations to these great leaders, I also will want to appeal to our Governor, His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodimma to forego his right to appeal this judgement, and embrace these officials, and see them as reliable partners in driving his vision for the State at the grassroots level, as well as helping him to implement our Party’s pro-poor policies and programs”.
Uche Nwosu also noted that as the Party APC is going through reconciliation period, insisting that respecting the judgement will go a long way in boosting the reconciliation process currently going on in APC, thus strengthening the Party more.
Some Political Pundits are of the view that Senator Hope Uzodinma, may hearken to the advice from Uche Nwosu and reconsider appealing the judgement. However, more pundits are in favour of Uzodinma contesting the judgment. Some of his aides and supporters such as Mr Odogwu Deka have taken to Facebook, to warn the IMC chairmen not to vacate their offices.
Uche Nwosu on his part, expressed strong confidence that these Chairmen and Councillors, while serving the people that elected them shall also be veritable mobilizers for our Party at the grassroots.
