Lagos state government unveils 5 years food sufficiency plan for the state

According to report reaching oyogist.com, Lagos state government has unveiled a five years food suffiency road map for lagos state.

The Governor took to his verified twitter handle to disclose this:

He said: “Today, we unveiled our 5 year food sufficiency road map for Lagos, an audacious growth plan to enhance food sufficiency in our state. We expect the investment in the agricultural sector from public and private sector, donor agencies and development partners to run into over $10 billion in the next five years.”

“We will work with private sector players, connecting them to business-friendly credit facilities and give incentives to improve private participation, while also formulating enabling policies to encourage return on investment.”

“We are revamping the Agricultural Land Holding Authority (ALHA) to drive investment into agriculture. The next five years will be productive, competitive & transformational as we implement this road map, which will make our State become the nation’s agricultural powerhouse.”

“I invite you to join us to make history. We are working with states in the North Central for land availability and I encourage our sister states in the South West to key in as we take deliberate action.”

“The adverse impact of the COVID19 pandemic and other factors on food security has necessitated this immediate action and we must do this now.”
