Miss Sylvia Ulan, a Plateau state waec candidate who baged 9 A1, awarded scholarship by government

The Plateau government has offered an automatic scholarship to Miss Sylvia Ulan Matthew to any university of her choice for emerging the best candidate from the state within the 2020 WASSCE with 9A1s.

Ulan who is from Bokkos LGA of the State may be a student of Premier Academy, Lugbe Abuja.

She is claimed to possess a history of record-breaking having emerged overall best at national common entrance examinations which earned her a scholarship by the Shell Petroleum Company.

The Governor during a statement by his Director of Press & Public Affairs, Makut Macham congratulated her for the feat and said he wasn’t surprised due to the abundant talents available within the State. He said the State will grant her a scholarship to any University of her choice.

He praised her mother for raising her single-handedly since the death of her husband even before Ulan was born.

Plateau State Coordinator on SDGs Mr. Sam Damla who led the family to Government House Little Rayfield said the performance of the scholar again shows the potentials that the people of Plateau State possess which must be harnessed.

Ulan thanked the Governor for the reception and promised to not disappoint him and therefore the people of Plateau State. She explained that her passion is to be a Chemical Engineer.
