ASUU STRIKE: 6 Federal Universities Supports Continuation Of Strike Until FG Grants All proposals

According to report reaching OYOGist.com, the University of Nigeria UNN, University of UYO UNIUYO, Federal University of Technology Owerri FUTO, Federal University of Technology Minna FUTMINA, Kano University of Science and Technology KUSTWUDIL, University of Jos UNIJOS have allegedly supported the continuation of strike until the Federal Government Grants all proposals.

Chairman of the chapter union, Dr David Jankam made this known on Monday while speaking to newsmen shortly after the Congress meeting was over said that “our members did not see any substance in the negotiations with the Federal government to warrant calling off the industrial action strike.

He continued “we have just rounded off our meeting, as a matter of fact our members castes their votes overwhelmingly for the continuation of the strike.”

He said that “I can also confirm to you that, five of the eight universities that made up the Bauchi Zones of ASUU, has also voted for continuation of the strike and the general saying is that, the FG has not shown any commitments on the redemption of our demands.

According to the chairman, Dr. Jankam said “I will now convey the resolve of our branch to our national president in our NEC meeting which is scheduled for Wednesday, 21st October, 202 this week.”

He also lay emphasises by saying “if the majority of the chapter voted for call off of the strike, it will surely be called off, but If the majority of the chapters voted for continuation, so will it be”, he concluded.
