The Zamfara State Government has suspended the Rector of Abdu Gusau Polytechnic, Talata Mafara, Dr. Sirajo Shinkafi, over allegations of misconduct and insubordination.
The suspension, which takes immediate effect, was announced in a statement issued on Monday by the Secretary to the State Government, Abubakar Nakwada. According to the statement, the decision was taken to ensure the smooth running of academic and administrative activities within the institution.
Nakwada stated that the government deemed it necessary to relieve the rector of his duties pending further actions concerning the allegations levelled against him. However, the statement did not provide detailed information regarding the specific acts that constituted the alleged misconduct and insubordination.
“The Government assures the Polytechnic community and the general public that measures have been put in place to ensure the uninterrupted administration of the institution,” the statement noted.
