Osun Governor’s Wife Gives Okada Riders Fuel, Face Masks

Wife of Osun State Governor and the President, IleriOluwa Development Initiatives, Mrs Kafayat Oyetola, has given free fuel to selected commercial motorcyclists in the state.

The beneficiaries, who are commercial motorcycle operators, popularly known as okada riders, also got face masks from the First Lady as part of efforts to prevent spread of coronavirus in the state.

The riders, drawn from the association of motorcyclists and tricycle riders in the state, received fuel and face masks to ameliorate effects of coronavirus on them.

A statement by Press Officer, Office of Wife of the Governor, Tunmise Iluyomade, on Saturday said the coordinator of the programme, Tijani Sikiru, explained that the beneficiaries were selected through local government chapters of their association.

“The free fuel from the governor’s wife is meant to support the riders. The gesture will be extended to more beneficiaries in other local governments in the state,” the statement added.

In his remarks, President of the Association of Motorcyclist and Tricyclist Riders in the state, Gbenga Ajenifunija, assured of maximum support of members in ensuring compliance with all safety protocols to prevent spread of coronavirus.
