OYOGist.com has learned that popular Nigerian lawyer and human rights activist, Femi Falana (SAN) has issued a 48 hours ultimatum for the The Nation to publish an apology letter, admitting to circulation of fake news against him, on the front page of their newspaper.

Falana issued the instructions through CITIPOINT, a legal chamber based in Lagos. The three pages warning note referenced the news article titled, “more trouble for Magu as new facts on relooting of recovered looted funds emerged.” Which was published earlier today, July 12, 2020, in which the media house linked Femi Falana with one “28 million naira” being part of the money laundering activities of the embattled former acting chairman of the EFCC, Ibrahim Magu.

The chamber noted that the publication and its imputation is damning to the character of its client, Femi Falana (SAN) and failure of the publication house to act in accordance to his client’s gentlemanly request will necessitate the chamber to issue a Writ in the tort of defamation in the court of law.
