The Osun State Government on Saturday said that Secretary to the Government, Wole Oyebamiji, has recovered from the coronavirus disease, oyogist.com reports.
Oyebamiji had about 10 days ago tested positive for the virus but the confirmatory test carried out on him on Friday returned negative.
Also, fresh tests carried out on 21 other patients were also said to have returned negative and they have all been discharged.
The state’s Commissioner for Health, Rafiu Isamotu, in a statement in Osogbo on Saturday, however, announced that the state recorded 23 more infections, saying they were contacts from previous cases in the state.
Isamotu also disclosed that some of the staff in the office of the SSG who had previously tested positive were among those who tested negative.
He then appealed to residents of the state to always observe all the precautionary measures laid down against the spread of the virus.
He added that the number of confirmed cases in the state rose to 233 with 116 active cases, adding that 110 total recoveries and seven fatalities have so far been recorded.
