Thousands of indigenes from Ogun West Senatorial District have thrown their weight behind the governorship ambition of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Oladipupo Adebutu, ahead of the 2027 Ogun State governorship election.

The endorsement took place during a well-attended gathering at Tetede Hall in Ilaro, where supporters, community leaders, youth groups and PDP faithful declared their support for Adebutu, describing him as the preferred candidate to lead the state.

Speaking on behalf of the Believe Movement, Chief Akinbami Lukman said the group’s decision to back Adebutu was driven by the desire to promote the overall development of Ogun State. He assured the PDP candidate that members of the movement would work tirelessly to ensure his victory at the polls.

Youth leader Jimoh Azeez, representing the Door-to-Door Foot Soldiers, also pledged unwavering support for Adebutu, expressing confidence that young voters would play a decisive role in the 2027 election. He stressed that the youth were prepared to mobilise voters and safeguard their votes throughout the electoral process.

Several speakers at the event praised the Adebutu family for its long-standing philanthropic contributions to communities across Ogun State, noting that their record of service without holding public office demonstrated a commitment to the welfare of the people.

Awori representatives also endorsed Adebutu, stating that their support was based on his character, leadership qualities and commitment to protecting the dignity and progress of Ogun State rather than political affiliations.

Responding to the endorsements, Adebutu thanked the people of Ogun West for what he described as an overwhelming display of love and confidence in his leadership. He pledged to prioritise the development of the senatorial district and ensure inclusive governance if elected governor.

The PDP candidate urged residents to remain committed to the democratic process by participating actively in the election and protecting the integrity of their votes. He reaffirmed his determination to deliver a government that would focus on the welfare and prosperity of all Ogun State residents.
