Governor Seyi Makinde-led government has reacted to the speculations making round that the burial of the former Governor of the state, Abiola Ajimobi, is been hindered by the current state government.

The current administration in a statement released, revealed why it has hindered the family of the former acting National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress from burying him in Agodi GRA.

The governor debunked the insinuation that it is delaying the burial rite in a statement released through his Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Taiwo Adisa.

The state Governor noted that the allegation levelled against his administration over the burial of Ajimobi is a political play planned to give his administration a bad name.

The state government revealed that the family of the former Governor of the state requested to bury the late Governor on a plot of land at Agodi GRA which is currently under litigation.

It was revealed that the former Governor himself while in government instituted the legal action and this made Governor Makinde reject the plea of his family but noted that Ajimobi’s family can bury the late governor in his Oluyole Estate residence.

According the rules guiding land use in Government Reservation Areas (GRA) forbid the burial of bodies in such locations as Oluyole Estate and Agodi GRA.

The state government further stated that it was also kept in dark while the former Governor was sick and until his death which is against protocol.
