“The Church is not a club”- Bishop Oyedepo blows hot as he slams new government directives

The presiding bishop of the living faith church, Aka winners chapel international with headquarters in Canaanland ,Ota Nigeria, Bishop David Oyedepo has slammed the new government directives on reopening of churches in Lagos, Nigeria.

Speaking at the first service on Sunday, 7 June 2020, the clergyman slammed the new government directives that sought to disallow worshippers of more than 65years of age into church, Bishop Oyedepo stated that the government had to authority to bar certain age groups from attending church. He said imagine if the government disallowed him from coming to church due to his age.

The Bishop went further to slam the government for opening the market for eight hours and refusing religious worship for an hour. He also stated that very soon the government would say that ministers can’t preach for more than 15 minutes and they must submit their messages to a Censorship Board before they could preach.

The Bishop also wondered why the focus of the pandemic was on religious worship. He opined further that is was a plan of the devil to obstruct the growth of the church as the church was neither a club nor a cult. The Bishop went further to restate that no agenda of the devil would stop the growth and expansion of the church this year.
