Emir of Rano Death Not Covid-19 Related – Rano Emirate Council

The Emir of Rano in Kano State, Dr Tafida Abubakar Ila ll, is dead.

He died on Saturday at a hospital in Kano at the age of 74.

Turakin Rano and the lawmaker representing Rano, Kibiya, and Bunkure Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Alhaji Kabir Alhassan-Rururm, confirmed the death of the monarch.

He said the late emir is survived by 17 children and two wives, adding that the deceased would be buried Saturday evening in the emirate.

The Rano Emirate Council earlier confirmed that the Emir was sick but not infected with COVID-19.

The late Emir was rushed to the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital in a critical condition but referred to the Nasarawa Specialists Hospital for further medical attention.

Oyogist.com reports that the Rano Emirate Council is one of the four emirates newly created by Governor Abdullahi Ganduje on May 9, 2019.

The new emirates of Gaya, Rano, Karaye, and Bichi used to be districts under the Kano Emirate Council.

Quite unfortunate i must say…, What could this illness be? I just hope this is not part of the strange illness in Kano state. May his soul rest in perfect peace.
