Victor Osimhen and two other Super Eagles players Paul Onuachu and Imoh Ezekiel have been quarantined after the trio landed in Lagos aboard a private jet.

Osimhen, who lost his father on Saturday after a brief illness, landed at the private wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport on Monday evening, after he was granted compassionate leave by his French club, who provided the private aircraft, to be with his family.

The President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Amaju Pinnick, had disclosed that the federation was working with the relevant federal agency to issue a landing permit for the private jet bringing the player.

“Victor has arrived Nigeria but he has been quarantined in line with the guidelines of the government for anyone returning from another country,” a source close to the player informed The PUNCH.

Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa and John Ogu also underwent a similar self-isolation when they both arrived the country following the suspension of the Saudi Professional League due to the coronavirus pandemic.

No date has been announced yet for the burial of his father.

The 21-year-old striker finished as Lille’s top scorer and has been heavily linked with several top European clubs in recent months.

Osimhen netted 18 goals in 38 appearances for Lille.
