The Nigerian Government led by the Buhari administration has acquired over 200 military vehicles such as Utility Vehicles, Humvee and Defenders from the indigenous car manufacturer, Innoson Motors, OYOGist.com has learned.
The purchase order, said to be worth several billions in naira, has strengthened the manufacturing power of the auto company and helped boost job creation in the Nigerian auto sector.
According to reports, the orders were first delivered in 2018, when the Nigerian government was gearing up its offence against the Boko Haram terrorist sect.
The Government has since placed several orders from the company, resulting in contracts running into billions of naira for Innoson Group.
