OAU Expels 9 Students, Suspends 19 Others for Involving in ‘Cultism’ and Exam Malpractice

OYOGist.com has learned that the management of Obafemi Awolowo University, Osun state today published a list of about 28 students who were suspended and sanctioned for involving in anti-academic acts.

The list which was signed by the school Registrar having 3 females and 25 males said that the students were ‘found culpable of various offences which centered on breach of their matriculation oath and were appropriately sanctioned by the University management.

However, while some people are commending the school for taking such a drastic step in reducing unlawful acts in the higher institution, others are blaming the school for denying students right to academics because they think ‘the school interprets activism as cultism’ Meanwhile, it should be noted that some students were expelled for ‘altering marks’.

This is rather despicable and should be frowned at by every stakeholder, parent and guardian who agitate for proper education in Nigeria.
