Retired Brigadier General Maharazu Tsiga has urged both the government and citizens to confront banditry head-on, asserting that the criminals are merely human beings and should be faced squarely.

Tsiga, a former Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) who survived a harrowing 56-day kidnapping ordeal, made it clear that relying solely on negotiations will not bring an end to the terror plaguing the country.

Moving Past the Fear

According to the retired General, the aura of invincibility surrounding these criminal groups needs to be dismantled. He emphasized that bandits bleed and fear just like anyone else, notably pointing out that while they claim to have no fear of God, they completely panic and scatter the moment military aircraft appear overhead.

“Bandits are human beings like us, let’s face them squarely.”
