Leo Stan Ekeh Calls for Tech-Focused Parenting as TD Africa Celebrates Partners at 12th Annual Awards Night

Leo Stan Ekeh Champions Technology Education at TD Africa’s 12th “Celebrating You” Awards

At the prestigious 12th edition of TD Africa‘s annual “Celebrating You” Awards Night, held at the renowned Eko Hotels & Suites in Victoria Island, Lagos, Leo Stan Ekeh, Chairman of the Zinox Group, delivered a powerful call to Nigerian parents. He urged them to invest in technology education for their children, highlighting its critical role in Nigeria’s quest for economic leadership on the continent.

Technology as a Pillar for Nigeria’s Economic Future

Addressing a gathering of industry pioneers, partners, and dignitaries, Mr. Ekeh underscored the transformative impact of technology on national development. He passionately advised, “If you have two or three children, ensure at least two pursue technology-it’s a wise investment.” His conviction reflects a broader vision where technology serves as the foundation for both personal success and Nigeria’s economic resurgence.

Celebrating Innovation Under the Theme “African Digital Renaissance”

Themed “African Digital Renaissance,” this year’s awards night has solidified its reputation as a landmark event within Nigeria’s tech ecosystem. It convened innovators, corporate partners, and national leaders to honor exceptional achievements and contributions to the digital sector throughout 2025.

TD Africa’s Commitment to Excellence and Partnership

Mrs. Chioma Ekeh, CEO of TD Africa and partner to Mr. Ekeh, reiterated the company’s dedication to its collaborators. She emphasized that the unwavering loyalty and stellar performance of their partners were instrumental in driving the company’s success this year.

“Our milestones in 2025 were made possible by partners who consistently deliver excellence,” Mrs. Ekeh remarked, highlighting the collaborative ethos that propels TD Africa forward.

A Power Couple Driving Africa’s Digital Transformation

Since its inception in 1999, TD Africa has grown under the stewardship of the Ekehs into one of West Africa’s foremost technology distributors. Their partnership extends beyond business, embodying a shared mission to accelerate Africa’s digital evolution.

As Chairman of Zinox Group, Leo Stan Ekeh oversees a diverse portfolio including Task Systems, TD Africa, Zinox Technologies, and Konga. These entities collectively underpin Nigeria’s technology infrastructure, with Ekeh’s leadership focused on democratizing access to innovative tech solutions across the continent.

Optimism Amid Economic Challenges

Confronting Nigeria’s economic hurdles, Mr. Ekeh expressed a confident outlook for the nation’s future, stating, “Within the next decade, Nigeria will emerge as Africa’s strongest economy. This requires faith coupled with conscientious effort.”

He also shared a unique business principle that has shaped his journey: the concept of Corporate Tithe. Initiated two years into his entrepreneurial career, this practice involves dedicating a portion of profits to social reinvestment, a value deeply embedded in his companies’ culture.

“This uncommon approach has enabled us to launch initiatives like a $75 million creative financing fund established 16 years ago, aimed at empowering Nigerian enterprises that lack access to conventional credit,” Ekeh explained. “Funds contributed by our partners are reinvested to fortify the economy.”

Empowering Youth Through the Computerize Nigeria Initiative

In a landmark move to bridge the digital divide, Zinox Technologies and KongaCares recently launched the Computerize Nigeria Initiative. This ambitious program aims to equip over one million Nigerian students with computers, complemented by essential infrastructure such as uninterrupted power via iPower inverters, high-speed internet connectivity through Starlink, and comprehensive training and after-sales support.

This initiative stands as one of the largest corporate social responsibility projects in Nigeria’s tech sector, designed to ensure equitable access to digital education and prepare the next generation for the demands of the digital economy.

The event celebrated partners who excelled in innovation, project delivery, customer service, and strategic alliances throughout 2025. Award categories included:

  • Partner of the Year
  • Mobile Partner of the Year

Adding to the evening’s excitement was a raffle draw, where Chukwuka Mmadu, Founder of Chimesco Standard Concept and a TD Africa partner, won a brand-new SUV. Mr. Mmadu expressed his gratitude and praised TD Africa’s transformative influence on Nigeria’s technology landscape.
