After the meeting, Governor Seyi Makinde met with the members of the State Press for a briefing of their meeting. The Governor revealed that he wanted to make sure Mr President had a first hand information on what is going on in Oyo State, aside from what he describes as “fake news” flying around.
He explained that every Nigerian has rights to live anywhere they want within the country, so far they are law abiding and that fulani’s and herdsmen are not the problem of Oyo State but the kidnappers, bandits and criminals.
Speaking further, he said one of the challenges Oyo State faces is its massive size. In comparison, the Governor said Oyo State alone is bigger than all the states in the South East put together and this poses a security challenge itself.
