The Mile 2 underpass drainage intervention and pavement rehabilitation work was flagged off by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo Olu in August 2020. It involves solutions to the incessant flooding of the stated area and perennial dilapidation of the surrounding pavement, oyogist.com reports.
A diversion plan had to be implemented beforehand to alleviate traffic congestion due to the closed lanes. All diversion related works have been completed and restorations duly started. The toll lanes will be worked on first, followed by the service lanes-Badagry and Lagos bound.
Work has fully commenced on the road, the construction work is being carried out by Chinese Company CCECC.
The rehabilitation of the road will make life easier for Lagosians who use the route on daily basis. The Mile 12 to Badadry Road is a major route, millions of people use the road daily.
The road has been in bad condition for a long period of time, Lagosians have been calling on the government to repair the road for a long time. Governor Sanwo Olu has finally heard the cry of the masses.
