OYOGist.com has learned that the Edo State PDP Campaign Council Chairman and Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike on Wednesday presided over The Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) National Campaign Council for Edo governorship election meeting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The Meeting which was attended by both Governors of Adamawa State, Umaru Fintiri and Oyo State, Seyi Makinde was called at the instance of how the Party could retained their position as the ruling party in Edo State comes September by ensuring Governor Godwin Obaseki emerges victorious.
Speaking, Governor Wike said winning Edo State is sacrosanct and not debatable with the opposition party APC in Edo State. According to him PDP and the masses will ensure that every votes counts comes September when the elections will be held.
He says the party is confident of electoral victory but will need the support of every Edo citizens in achieving this success. “That time has passed when APC will be allowed to have a state in the south south. As you can see the party APC is a regional party only found in some parts of the country say Wike.
The highlights of the meeting was resolved by stakeholders and members of the campaign council to put in 110% effort in ensuring Edo State remains PDP.
