New evidence have exposed the man whose story went viral after he claimed that his ailing mother died in his care because police in Rivers State prevented him from going to the hospital, OYOGist.com has learned.

The man who falsely claimed his mother was hypertensive said he was on his way to the hospital when COVID-19 Task Force police stopped him and prevented him from taking her to the hospital.

According to him, the police officers insisted on taking N20,000 cash bribe before he is allowed to go.

“This morning my mom who has been managing hypertension for over 20 yrs passed away right there in the car while I was taking her to the hospital this morning simply because men of the @PoliceNG insisted that I have to part with 20,000 naire before they will let us pass,” he tweeted.

His story appeared in several news outlets, including Legit.ng among others.

According to Twitter influencer, Aproko Doctor, the man had pulled the stunt, similar to one he did a year ago, just to gain attention.

Activist and human rights champion, Segalink also corroborated Aproko_Doctor’s claims after he shared screenshots of the same man requesting for his help after claiming that his mother died in a similar grotesque fashion just a year ago.
