The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has disbursed ₦7.61 billion in pension benefits to 4,237 retired officers, reaffirming its commitment to the welfare of personnel who have served the nation.

 

The Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, announced the development, stating that the payment reflects the agency’s resolve to ensure retired officers receive their entitlements promptly and without unnecessary delays.

 

According to the NCS, the disbursement was made under its contributory pension scheme and forms part of ongoing efforts to improve the welfare and financial security of retired personnel. The agency noted that timely payment of pension benefits is essential to maintaining the confidence and morale of serving officers.
