This was contained in a commique signed by the commissioner for information, C Don Adinuba on Monday.

The southeast government made this declaration to honour the first president of Nigeria, late Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe who was born on November 16, 1904, in Zungeru, Niger state.

While acknowledging that this is the third consecutive year Anambra is observing the birthday anniversary of the Great Zik of Africa, Obiano noted that it will be right for President Muhammadu Buhari to declare November 16, a national holiday in his memory.
