Ikoyi Building Collapse: Osinbajo Condoles With Victims’ Families

Nigeria’s Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo on Friday condoled with the families of those affected in the collapse of a 21-storey building at Ikoyi, Lagos State, Oyogist.com reports.

stated this via his verified Facebook page, where he described the accident as a “horrible tragedy”.

Recall that on Monday, a high-rise building under construction collapsed on Gerrard Road, Ikoyi, Lagos State, leaving at least 40 people dead and many injured.

In his Facebook post on Friday, the Vice President mentioned that the tragic event made him sad, as he also condoled with the families of those affected.

Osinbajo wrote, “I am saddened by events that occurred in Lagos on Monday, 1st of November 2021, where a high-rise building under construction on Gerrard Road, Ikoyi, collapsed; a horrible tragedy.

“I condole with the families and relatives of all those who have died, were injured or affected in this collapse.”
