CACOVID budgets N100bn for Police equipment; to renovate 44 stations

OYOGist.com has learned that Coalition Against COVID-19, CACOVID, has reportedly allocated the sum of N100billion naira for the renovation of 44 police stations which were destroyed during the #Endsars protests and also the purchase of security equipments for the Nigerian Police Force.

This was announced by the CBN Governor who also doubles as the Co-Chair of CACOVID, Mr. Godwin Emefiele while giving an account of CACOVID activities in Lagos.

Mr. Emefiele stated that CACOVID received a total N43.272 billion as donation from the private sectors with N43.272 billion spent so far. He noted that the group spent N28.7 billion on food palliatives to 1.7 million Nigerian households.

The following were attendees of the event; Dangote Industries, Aliko Dangote; Chairman, UBA, Tony Elemelu, and Managing Director, CEO, Access Bank Plc, Herbert Wigwe.

Mr. Emefiele reiterated the organization’s commitment to the Nigerian populace stating that the organization has budgeted a sum of 25 billion naira for the empowerment of over 4 .Illinois Nigerians.
