In a bid to ease supply logistics, the Dangote Petroleum Refinery has rolled out a free delivery initiative for Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) across six key Nigerian locations, while keeping its ex-depot price stable at N1,075 per litre.
The company shared this announcement on Wednesday via its official X (formerly Twitter) account.
Key Details of the Initiative
Covered Regions: The complimentary shipping applies to buyers in Lagos, Ogun, Rivers, Kaduna, and Delta states, alongside the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.
Eligibility Criteria: To qualify for the free delivery service, customers must place a bulk order of at least 250,000 litres of petrol.
Context and Market Impact
This strategic move follows recent deliberations between Dangote Refinery executives and downstream petroleum sector stakeholders regarding sustainable, market-reflective pricing. The consultation concluded with industry players advocating for more affordable fuel prices to alleviate the financial burden on consumers.
The delivery incentive arrives on the heels of the refinery lowering its gantry price to N1,075 per litre—representing its fourth price reduction in a matter of months. Reflecting this downward trend, Abubakar Maigandi, President of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), noted that retail pump prices at filling stations nationwide have already seen a decline of roughly N125 per litre over the last three weeks.
