According to report reaching OYOGist.com, the members of the Rivers State caucus of the National Assembly, have affirmed their support for the decisions and steps taken by His Excellency Governor Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, the Executive Governor of Rivers State, to rein in the Indigenous People Organization of Biafra (IPOB) in Rivers State.

The report stated that, the Lawmakers strongly pledged their unconditional support to Gov Wike on every actions he has taken so far in order to preserve lives and properties of the residents of the State. The Leader of the caucus, Senator Sekibo George, stated this when given a speech at the Rivers State Government House Port Harcourt, when he led other NASS Members on a solidarity visit to His Excellency Governor Wike at the Rivers State Government House Port Harcourt.

Senator Sekibo further emphasized that the caucus, had been impressed with the efforts and commitment of His Excellency Gov Wike in the handling of the hijacked peaceful End SARS Protest in the State.

He thanked Gov Wike for ensuring that the End SARS Protest was peaceful, but the enemies of the State who are masquerading as the IPOB Group hijacked the peaceful Protest and caused mayhem in the State.

As a result of the hijacked peaceful End SARS Protest in the State, several lives of innocent individuals and properties were lost, especially in Oyigbo, Obio Akpor, Port Harcourt and Eleme Local Government Areas of the State.

Governor Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, in his response to the speech of Senator Sekibo, lauded the caucus for the solidarity visit and reaffirmed that he would continue to do all that is required to protect and defend his State. He further emphasized that the IPOB Members capitalized on the contiguousness of Oyigbo to Abia State to invade the community and unleash violence, which resulted in the death of six (6) soldiers and four policemen in the State.
