Those who were arrested during the End SARS protests will be released without being charged Says Governor Seyi Makinde

Oyogist.com earlier reported that Governor Seyi Makinde oredered Oyo state police not to harass ENDSARS protesters again. In lieu to that, a peaceful protest was carried out in Oyo state today which was even regarded as the ENDSARS protest with the largest crowed in Nigeria.

At the middle of the protest, Oyo state governor, Governor Seyi Makinde addressed the protesters and ensure them that those who are in police custody arrested during the protest would be released without being charged.

In his statement posted on his official twitter handle, he said: “We returned to the secretariat in Ibadan to speak with our other children who had been waiting all day. We reassured them that these protests are a wake-up call to all. We pledged to do better to meet the needs of young people, especially for employment and a safer environment.”

He also added that: “I informed them that our Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Professor Oyelowo Oyewo, would work with the Commissioner of Police in Oyo State to ensure that all those who were arrested during the End SARS protests are released without being charged.”
