#EndSARS: Alex Iwobi, other Super Eagles Stars join protest

The #EndSARS protest that has entered its second day of demonstration and gained international attention has gotten stronger support after the nation’s soccer superstars lent their voices to the protest.

OYOGist.com has gathered that top football stars such as Everton forward, Alex Iwobi who tweeted on Friday. “Protect Lives, Not Take Them Away #EndSARS #EndPoliceBrutality,” Iwobi Tweeted.

Other Super Eagles players who have lent their voices include, Leon Balogun, Ahmed Musa, Shehu Abdulahi, and John Ogu.

Balogun tweeted, “The reasons for the #EndSARSProtests have just come to my attention via very disturbing images and tweets. It is never good when those charged with protecting the citizens are now terrorising, extorting, or even killing the same citizens. I support #EndSarsProtests #EndSars.”

In his own tweet, Ahmed Musa called for an end to the strike caused by the police brutality, ending his tweet with #EndPoliceBrutality. “In a world where genuine love for ourselves seems to be so scarce, I sincerely pray that the right thing is done to put an end to the strife. #EndPoliceBrutality,” Musa wrote.

For John Ogu, his message was simple. “Enough is Enough, #EndSARS,” John tweeted. He tweeted, “I hope our next checkpoint will never be our last bus-stop. #EndSARS #EndPoliceBrutality #EndSARSNow”

“The voice of the poeple must be heard, @NigeriaGov must #EndSARS and protect the lives of our Youth from #PoliceBrutality,” Shehu Abdulahi tweeted.
