A user (supposedly a student) has shared a screenshot of what appears to be a threat from the Nigerian Police via WhatsApp for participating in the EndSARS protest, OYOGist.com has gathered.

The threat message was sent from a WhatsApp contact that claimed to be the Nigeria Anti-Cybercrime Agency, to a student named Tiezy of Obafemi Awolowo University (OU) for posting “End SARS” on his WhatsApp status.

In the message allegedly sent to the by the Police on Whatsapp, it reads “Hey Your name is Tiezy, a student of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) from the department of Microbiology and stays at Omole estate area of Ile-ife, Osun State.”

“You have been reported to have posted “END SARS” on your whatsapp status and will be getting arrested by your school authority as directed by our agency any moment from now. Thanks.”

The signature read “Nigeria Anti-Cybercrime Agency (NACA) 84 3rd Ave, Abuja 905102 Nigeria”

The screenshot of the message was shared on Twitter by popular Nigerian social media influencer, Pamilerin, and has gathered over 2,500 likes and 2,600 retweets as of the time of this report.

While it has gone viral online, and accumulated a lot of reactions, efforts by OYOGist.com to verify this by contacting the number has proved abortive.
